Broken Vessels

“Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace)” – Broken for You.
(Hillsong Worship)

All these pieces
Broken and scattered
In mercy gathered
Mended and whole
Empty handed
But not forsaken
I’ve been set free
I’ve been set free

Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
But now I’m found
Was blind but now I see

As I considered the theme for this cross, I was drawn towards a suggested theme of “Broken Vessels.”  We are all broken and damaged at times.  We sometimes feel far from God’s presence.  At this time of year, we remember and mourn Jesus’ death on the cross.  Holy Week and Easter Resurrection remind us that God is always with us.  No matter how broken, God picks up our pieces and puts us back together to the unique and loved individuals that we were created to be.

My cross is a reminder of our brokenness. The broken terracotta clay is pieced together as a reminder that Jesus’ body was given up for us and his resurrection a promise that God will always mend us and make us whole.  Amazing Grace!
